The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
Family-friendly places like Graceland and Room Escape Games will thrill your kids. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Memphis: The West Tennessee Agriculture Museum (in Milan), Collierville (Collierville TN Historic District & Morton Museum of Collierville History) and West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center (in Brownsville). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Sun Studio, explore the world behind art at Belz Museum of Asian & Judaic Art, get engrossed in the history at National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel, and make a trip to The Peabody Ducks.
