Vernal, the county seat and largest city in Uintah County is in northeastern Utah, United States, about 175mi east of Salt Lake City and west of the Colorado border. Step out of Vernal with an excursion to Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in Manila--about 1h 15 min away. There's still lots to do: explore the striking landscape of Dinosaur National Monument visitor center, take an in-depth tour of Uintah County Heritage Museum, pause for some photo ops at Seasonally Decorated Dinosaur, and relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour.
