Lake George

— 3 nights

Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
Venture out of the city with trips to Ticonderoga (The Hancock House, Star Trek Original Series Set Tour, &more) and Square Eddy Expeditions (in North Creek). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake George, glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, make a splash at The Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor, and have some family-friendly fun at Oscar's Smoke House.
