Albuquerque — 5 nights

Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
Visiting Balloon Rides and Bandelier National Monument will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Albuquerque: Valles Caldera National Preserve (in Jemez Springs), Canyon Trail (in Cochiti Pueblo) and Loretto Chapel (in Santa Fe). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic natural features at Petroglyph National Monument, wander the streets of Albuquerque Old Town, see the interesting displays at New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society, and hike along Boca Negra Canyon.

Plan my trip to Albuquerque with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

San Antonio to Albuquerque is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. Traveling from San Antonio in February, expect Albuquerque to be a bit cooler, temps between 57°F and 31°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly back home.
