Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.

Take a break from the city and head to Fishing Charters & Tours and Independence Pass. Explore Aspen's surroundings by going to Horseback Riding Tours (in Vail), Buena Vista (Vicksburg & Climbing Tours) and Hanging Lake Trail (in Glenwood Springs). On the 13th (Sat), dedicate a day to the elevated beauty of Aspen Mountain / Ajax. And it doesn't end there: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Maroon Bells, trek along Maroon Lake Scenic Trail, identify plant and animal life at Windstar Land Conservancy, and stroll through Wellington Trail.
