The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
On the 4th (Sun), admire the natural beauty at Atlanta Botanical Garden, then immerse yourself in nature at Stone Mountain Park, and then contemplate the long history of Centennial Olympic Park. On the next day, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Georgia Aquarium and then see the interesting displays at World of Coca-Cola.

Columbia to Atlanta is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In April, daily temperatures in Atlanta can reach 74°F, while at night they dip to 54°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Chattanooga.

Once saddled with the reputation of being one of the country's dirtiest cities, Chattanooga now boasts a pedestrian-friendly downtown with a network of leafy waterfront trails and free electric shuttles.
On the 6th (Tue), have fun and explore at Creative Discovery Museum, explore the fascinating underground world of Raccoon Mountain Caverns, and then stroll through Lookout Mountain. On the 7th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: snap pictures at Walnut Street Bridge and then ponder the design of Coolidge Park.

Stanton

Stanton is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Powell County, Kentucky, United States. Venture out of the city with trips to Paris (Claiborne Farm & Hartfield & Co.), Carter Caves State Resort Park (in Olive Hill) and Rock Bridge Trail #207 (in Slade). There's much more to do: immerse yourself in nature at Natural Bridge State Resort Park, trek along Auxier Ridge Trail #204, look for all kinds of wild species at Nada Tunnel, and learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Kentucky Reptile Zoo.
