Live Music Capital of the World

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Distillery Tours and Chupacabra Craft Beer & Salado Lone Star Winery. Explore Austin's surroundings by going to Grape Creek Vineyards on Main (in Fredericksburg), Garrison Brothers Distillery (in Hye) and Becker Vineyards (Winery) (in Stonewall). There's much more to do: get a taste of local nightlife at Rainey Street, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Mary's Cathedral, steep yourself in history at Texas State Capitol, and do a tasting at Grape Creek Vineyards Georgetown.
