Kick off your visit on the 9th (Mon): pause for some serene contemplation at Yosemite Valley Chapel, don't miss a visit to Yosemite Village, stroll through Nature Center at Happy Isles, then take in the dramatic scenery at Vernal Fall, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Nevada Falls Loop. Here are some ideas for day two: admire the sheer force of Yosemite Falls, take some stellar pictures from Valley View, then stroll through Four Mile Trail, and finally get great views at Washburn Point.

Traveling by car from Big Sur to Yosemite National Park takes 5.5 hours. While traveling from Big Sur, expect a bit warmer days and a bit cooler nights in Yosemite National Park, ranging from highs of 81°F to lows of 43°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel to South Lake Tahoe.

South Lake Tahoe

You can drive from Yosemite National Park to South Lake Tahoe in 3 hours. In August in South Lake Tahoe, expect temperatures between 81°F during the day and 44°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Fri) so you can catch the flight back home.
