A busy city on the Gulf Coast, Biloxi is one of the nation's oldest communities, first settled by Europeans in 1699.
Get a sense of the local culture at Walter Anderson Museum of Art and Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Gulf State Park and Biloxi Beach. Explore Biloxi's surroundings by going to Holmes Medical Museum (in Foley) and Hattiesburg Zoo (in Hattiesburg). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Michael's Catholic Church, make a trip to Hurricane Katrina Memorial, and stroll the grounds of Old Biloxi Cemetery.
