The first national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park draws visitors with its rugged landscape of ocean shoreline, low-slung granite mountains, dense woodlands, and pristine lakes.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Indian Point Blagden Preserve and Heart of Acadia Loop. Get in touch with nature at Beech Mountain Trail and Pretty Marsh Picnic Area. There's lots more to do: stroll through The Bowl Trail, take in the dramatic natural features at Somes Sound, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Pemetic Mountain, and kick back and relax at Little Hunters Beach.

Getting from Boston to Acadia National Park by flight takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and car; or drive. Traveling from Boston in October, expect Acadia National Park to be slightly colder, temps between 59°F and 42°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Burlington.
