The northernmost New York City borough, the Bronx has many claims to fame, including being the birthplace of hip-hop and home of the New York Yankees.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Lakota Wolf Preserve and Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Get some historical perspective at Boscobel House & Gardens and Fonthill. Venture out of the city with trips to Old Dutch Church and Burying Ground (in Sleepy Hollow), West Point Museum (in West Point) and Shore Line Trolley Museum (in East Haven). There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Yale Center for British Art, get engrossed in the history at Mercer Museum, hit the slopes at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, and meet the residents at Bronx Zoo.

In December, plan for daily highs up to 44°F, and evening lows to 34°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Thu) so you can travel back home.
