Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
Venture out of the city with trips to Glenwood Springs (Hanging Lake Trail & Thermal Spas). Next up on the itinerary: take in the awesome beauty at Maroon Bells, walk around The John Denver Sanctuary, and admire all the interesting features of Independence Pass.

Chicago to Aspen is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, taxi, bus, and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Chicago to Aspen.
