Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
On the 29th (Fri), take a memorable drive along Million Dollar Highway and then stroll through Animas River Trail. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 30th (Sat): explore the galleries of Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum and then hit the slopes at Purgatory Resort.

On the 3rd (Wed), explore the striking landscape at Yankee Boy Basin and then get engrossed in the history at San Juan County Historical Society. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 4th (Thu): hike along Perimeter Trail, then examine the collection at Ouray Alchemist Museum, and then walk around Box Canyon Waterfall & Park.
