Mile-High City

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Garden of the Gods and Downtown Aquarium. Step out of Denver to go to Cascade and see North Pole Colorado Santa’s Workshop, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. There's much more to do: take in the exciting artwork at Denver Botanic Gardens, see the interesting displays at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, cool off at Water World, and get in on the family fun at Elitch Gardens Theme Park.

New York City to Denver is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from New York City to Denver. Western White House of President Gerald Ford

Originally built as a base for Vail Ski Resort, the town of Vail has blossomed into its own destination, but still has less than 6,000 permanent residents.
Bring the kids along to Vail Mountain Resort and Breckenridge Ski Resort. Step out of Vail with an excursion to Winter Park Resort in Winter Park--about 1h 35 min away. There's still lots to do: cast your line with Gore Creek Fly Fishing.

Traveling by car from Denver to Vail takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. While traveling from Denver, expect much colder days and a bit cooler nights in Vail, ranging from highs of 62°F to lows of 46°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
