Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
On the 15th (Fri), admire all the interesting features of Fort Zachary Taylor, examine the collection at Oldest House & Garden Museum, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Bahia Honda State Park. On the next day, see the interesting displays at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, then identify plant and animal life at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, and then identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas.

Halifax, Canada to Key West is an approximately 11-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Halifax to Key West due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Halifax in May, expect Key West to be warmer, temps between 34°C and 29°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can go by car to Islamorada.

Islamorada, long recognized as one of the world's top spots for sport fishing, encompasses six islands in the Florida Keys.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sun): enjoy the sand and surf at Anne's Beach, identify plant and animal life at Dolphin Research Center, then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Islamorada Brewery & Distillery, and finally see what you can catch with a fishing tour. You can drive from Key West to Islamorada in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In May, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Mon) early enough to drive to Key Largo.

The northernmost island of the Florida Keys, Key Largo provides stunning scenery, a number of watersports opportunities, and plenty of areas to relax on vacation.
