An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
On the 7th (Tue), take a stroll through The Strand, take in nature's colorful creations at Moody Gardens, and then get to know the fascinating history of The Seawall. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 8th (Wed): steep yourself in history at Bishop’s Palace, get in on the family fun at Kemah Boardwalk, and then meet the residents at Stingray Reef.

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Thu): stroll through Water Wall, then admire the masterpieces at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and then admire all the interesting features of Minute Maid Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take an in-depth tour of Holocaust Museum Houston and then engage your brain at Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Advertising itself as the place where the American West begins, Fort Worth stubbornly clings to its cowboy roots, making it a distinctly different town from most other urban centers of its size.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Fort Worth: Dallas (The Dallas World Aquarium, The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, & more). The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District and explore and take pictures at AT&T Stadium.

Traveling by combination of bus and taxi from Houston to Fort Worth takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of flight, bus, and train.
