Saint Simons Island — 1 night

St. On the 16th (Sun), get to know the fascinating history of Butler Island Plantation, then appreciate the history behind Fort Frederica National Monument, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Christ Church. On the next day, see what you can catch with a fishing tour, examine the collection at St. Simons Lighthouse Museum, and then step off the mainland to explore St. Simons Island.

Eschew the tourist crowds and head to The Old Sorrel Weed House Museum & Tours and Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters. Your inner history buff will appreciate Wormsloe Historic Site and Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace. Go for a jaunt from Savannah to Tybee Island to see Tybee Island Light Station And Museum about 30 minutes away. The adventure continues: get to know the fascinating history of Shannon Scott Tours, contemplate the long history of Olde Pink House, explore the different monuments and memorials at Colonial Park Cemetery, and pause for some photo ops at Fort Pulaski National Monument.

Drive from Jekyll Island to Savannah in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. In April, daily temperatures in Savannah can reach 77°F, while at night they dip to 57°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) early enough to catch the flight back home.
