Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Sun): admire all the interesting features of Gettysburg National Military Park.

Morrisville to Gettysburg is an approximately 9-hour car ride. You can also fly. Traveling from Morrisville in August, Gettysburg is a bit warmer at night with lows of 63°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Mon) so you can drive to Hershey.

Home of the Hershey Chocolate Company, the town of Hershey is regularly referred to as the sweetest place on earth.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Tue): get in on the family fun at Hersheypark. Keep things going the next day: relax in the rural setting at The Amish Farm and House, get engrossed in the history at Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park.

Traveling by car from Gettysburg to Hershey takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In August, daytime highs in Hershey are 84°F, while nighttime lows are 65°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Wed) so you can go by car to Philadelphia.

Start off your visit on the 15th (Thu): get engrossed in the history at Eastern State Penitentiary, then explore the world behind art at Philadelphia Museum of Art, then explore the striking landscape of Independence National Historical Park, and finally get a sense of history and politics at Independence Hall. Keep things going the next day: hike along Kelly Drive, then witness the site of a historic battle at Valley Forge National Historical Park, then admire the masterpieces at Barnes Foundation, and finally appreciate the history behind Liberty Bell Center.
