Holland — 2 nights

Holland is a city in the western region of the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. Pack the 8th (Mon) with family-friendly diversions at Nelis' Dutch Village. The adventure continues: stroll around Windmill Island Gardens, explore the activities along Lake Michigan, admire the natural beauty at Veldheer Tulip Garden, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church.

The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.Get out of town with these interesting Grand Rapids side-trips: Gilmore Car Museum (in Hickory Corners) and Portage (The Pantry On Tap Oil and Vinegar & Air Zoo).
