Poughkeepsie, officially the City of Poughkeepsie, is a city in the state of New York, United States, which is the county seat of Dutchess County. Your day by day itinerary now includes Weir Farm National Historic Site as well as Locust Grove Estate. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at West Point Foundry Preserve and Sprout Creek Farm. Go for a jaunt from Poughkeepsie to New Milford to see Housatonic River Brewing about 50 minutes away. There's more to do: snap pictures at Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park and do a tasting at Benmarl Vineyards and Winery.
