Ithaca

Ithaca is a city in the Southern Tier-Finger Lakes region of New York. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cascadilla Gorge Trail and Southern Tier Balloon Tours. Escape the urban bustle at Shequaga Falls and Robert Treman State Park. Traveling from Ithaca in August, plan for a bit warmer nights in Buffalo, with lows around 62°F. On the 21st (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Lake Placid.
