Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Lexington: Woodford Reserve Distillery (in Versailles), Ark Encounter (in Williamstown) and Buffalo Trace Distillery (in Frankfort). Originally intended as a resort city to serve the Mammoth Cave attraction, Cave City has taken on a life of its own.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Wed): trek along Cedar Sink Trail, then Head underground at Mammoth Cave, then see the interesting displays at National Corvette Museum, and finally bet on your favorite at NCM Motorsports Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 28th (Thu): hike along Tall Man's Misery, then see the interesting displays at Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum, and then buy something for everyone on your list at The Glendale Antique Mall.
