Derby City

Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville, is best known as the home of the Kentucky Derby.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Mon): learn about all things military at Old Bardstown Village Civil War Museum and then tee off at My Old Kentucky Home. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: see the interesting displays at Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum, then take in the spiritual surroundings of The Abbey of Gethsemani, and then go on a hair-raising tour with Old Louisville.

South Bend to Louisville is an approximately 5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or take a bus. Traveling from South Bend in July, things will get a bit warmer in Louisville: highs are around 87°F and lows about 69°F.
