Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
Change things up with these side-trips from Lake George: Natural Stone Bridge and Caves (in Pottersville), Giorgetti Park (in Rutland) and Square Eddy Expeditions (in North Creek). There's much more to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake George, try your luck at Saratoga Race Course, stroll around Congress Park, and take some stellar pictures from Olympic Ski Jump Complex.
