Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
Step out of the city life by going to Haleakala Crater and Hana Highway - Road to Hana. Your inner history buff will appreciate Kahanu Garden and Wananalua Congregational Church. There's much more to do: take in the exciting artwork at Hana Coast Gallery, take an in-depth tour of Hana Cultural Center, and shop like a local with Laura Mango Art Gallery.

Portland to Hana is an approximately 8-hour flight. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time to Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from Portland in October, things will get warmer in Hana: highs are around 88°F and lows about 70°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Tue) so you can fly to Lahaina.

Crown Jewel of Maui

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
Visit Wo Hing Temple Museum and Maria Lanakila Catholic Church for their historical value. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Ka'anapali Beach and D.T. Fleming Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Scuba & Snorkeling (in Kihei) and Wailea Beach (in Wailea).
