Wailuku is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. Appreciate the collections at Hana Coast Gallery and Hale Ho'ike'ike at the Bailey House. Get a sense of the local culture at Lahaina Front Street and Kahanu Garden. Venture out of the city with trips to Lahaina (Ka'anapali Beach, Baldwin Home Museum, &more), Wailea Beach (in Wailea) and Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center (in Makawao). There's lots more to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, stroll the grounds of Wananalua Congregational Church, pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church, and kick back and relax at Kalepolepo Beach Park.

Haleakala National Park offers visitors the rare opportunity to walk down into the intact crater of a volcano.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Fri): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Huialoha Church, don't miss a visit to Charles Lindbergh's Grave, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Palapala Ho'omau Church.

Take a bus from Wailuku to Haleakala National Park in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. In December, plan for daily highs up to 82°F, and evening lows to 66°F. On the 6th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
