The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.
On the 25th (Fri), get to know the resident critters at Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park, see the interesting displays at Gerald R. Ford Museum, and then find something for the whole family at Michigan's Adventure. Keep things going the next day: take in nature's colorful creations at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, then head off-road at Saugatuck Dune Rides, and then kick back and relax at Holland State Park Beach.
