Furniture City

The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Fri): admire the natural beauty at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and then grab your bike and head to White Pine Trail State Park. On your second day here, kick back and relax at Holland State Park Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Saugatuck Dune Rides, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Oval Beach.

Traverse City might be well known for its huge cherry industry, but its position along Grand Traverse Bay in Lake Michigan endows it with fine scenery and a wealth of outdoor attractions.
On the 9th (Sun), explore the striking landscape of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: cruise along Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, hike along Empire Bluff Trail, and then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports.
