Emerald City

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
On the 20th (Sun), explore the world behind art at Seattle Art Museum and then take a stroll through Pike Place Market. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: see the interesting displays at The Museum of Flight, walk around Kerry Park, then view the masterpieces at Glasshouse Studio, then shop like a local with Chihuly Garden and Glass, and finally make a trip to Space Needle.

Astoria, named for famed fur trader John Jacob Astor, resides near the mouth of the Columbia River.
