City of Bridges

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
You've added Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop, Pennsylvania Macaroni Company, Roundabout Brewery, and other attractions to your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Pittsburgh: Ohiopyle State Park (in Ohiopyle), Fellows Riverside Gardens (in Youngstown) and Fallingwater (in Mill Run). There's much more to do: admire the natural beauty at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, get curious at Carnegie Science Center, take in the views from Roberto Clemente Bridge (Sixth Street Bridge), and wander the streets of Strip District.

To find more things to do, other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, read our Pittsburgh trip planner.

In June, daytime highs in Pittsburgh are 79°F, while nighttime lows are 62°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
