Valdosta is a city in and the county seat of Lowndes County, located on the southern border of Georgia, United States. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Pebble Hill Plantation and Lowndes County Courthouse. Head to Magnolia Plantation and Valdosta Mallfor plenty of shopping. Explore Valdosta's surroundings by going to Horse Creek Winery (in Nashville), Thomasville (Thomasville's Historic Big Oak, Thomasville History Center, &more) and Tifton (The Market at Rutland Farms, Georgia Museum of Agriculture & Historic Village, &more). There's still lots to do: get in on the family fun at Wild Adventures Theme Park, see the interesting displays at Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum, look for all kinds of wild species at Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area, and admire the majestic nature at Reed Bingham State Park.

Atlanta to Valdosta is an approximately 3.5-hour car ride. When traveling from Atlanta in March, plan for somewhat warmer days in Valdosta, with highs around 73°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 48°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Albany.

Albany — 2 nights

Albany is a city in the U.S. state of Georgia, and is the seat of Dougherty County. Kick off your visit on the 6th (Sat): hunt for treasures at Tift Park Community Market, get engrossed in the history at Thronateeska Heritage Center, then explore the world behind art at Albany Museum of Art, and finally stop by Marks Melon Patch. On the next day, walk around Chehaw Park & Zoo and then walk around Ray Charles Plaza.
