Williston to Reno is an approximately 19.5-hour car ride. The time zone difference moving from Central Standard Time (CST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST) is minus 2 hours. Traveling from Williston in August, you will find days in Reno are somewhat warmer (92°F), and nights are about the same (60°F). On the 22nd (Sun), you're off to South Lake Tahoe.

South Lake Tahoe — 6 nights

High in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the shore of one of America’s most scenic lakes, South Lake Tahoe captures the spirit of the outdoors and serves as a hub for tourism activities surrounding the lake.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Casino Fandango, The Delta Saloon, Fireworks South lake Tahoe, and other attractions. You'll get in some beach time at Sand Harbor and Kiva Beach. Get outdoors at Emerald Bay State Park and Pope Beach. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Tallac Historic Site and kick back and relax at Lakeside Beach.

Drive from Reno to South Lake Tahoe in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In August, South Lake Tahoe is a bit cooler than Reno - with highs of 81°F and lows of 44°F. You'll have a few hours on the 28th (Sat) to wrap things up before traveling home.
