The Alamo City

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Briscoe Western Art Museum and Battle For Texas: The Experience. Get a sense of the local culture at San Antonio Museum of Art and The Museum of Western Art. Venture out of the city with trips to New Braunfels (Landa Park, New Braunfels Railroad Museum, &more), The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Gardens (in Kerrville) and Boerne (River Road Park & Cibolo Nature Center). There's much more to do: examine the collection at San Antonio Fire Museum, find something for the whole family at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, explore the galleries of Institute of Texan Cultures, and shop like a local with The San Antonio River Walk.

For other places to visit, where to stay, and more tourist information, go to the San Antonio road trip planner.
