San Carlos is a city in San Mateo County, California on the San Francisco Peninsula, about halfway between San Francisco and San Jose. Kick off your visit on the 28th (Wed): kick back and relax at Gray Whale Cove State Beach, then look for all kinds of wild species at Friends of Fitzgerald Marine Preserve, and then look for gifts at The Reading Bug.
