Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Industry Club/Bar, La Placita de Santurce and Fortaleza Street. Get a sense of the local culture at Old San Juan and The Poet's Passage. Head to Caribbean Trading Company Store and Walter Otero Contemporary Artfor some retail therapy. When in San Juan, make a side trip to see Luquillo Beach in Luquillo, approximately Luquillo away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Condado Beach, sample the fine beverages at Casa Bacardi Puerto Rico, appreciate the extensive heritage of Sitio Histórico de San Juan, and admire the masterpieces at Museo de Las Americas.

Known as the "Land of Giants" in honor of its celebrated residents--including poet Julia de Burgos and baseball player Roberto Clemente--Carolina makes a living as both an industrial center and a hub of tourism.
