Springfield is the third-largest city in the state of Missouri and the county seat of Greene County. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Lost Valley Hatchery and Lake of the Ozarks State Park. Appreciate the collections at US Army Engineer Museum and Bushwhacker Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Springfield side-trips: National Tiger Sanctuary (in Saddlebrooke), Osage Beach (Harmy's Cheese Store & More, LLC & Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf) and Bakersville Pioneer Village (in Mansfield). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Gay Perdita Sinclair Station Route 66 Memorabalia, admire the majestic nature at Montauk State Park, tour the pleasant surroundings at Cunningham Park, and take in the dramatic natural features at Jacob's Cave.

To see maps, other places to visit, reviews, and other tourist information, go to the Springfield day trip planning site .

In March, daily temperatures in Springfield can reach 58°F, while at night they dip to 35°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
