The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): pause for some photo ops at National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Beale Street, and then contemplate the long history of Sun Studio.

On the 12th (Sun), examine the collection at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, then take an in-depth tour of The Johnny Cash Museum & Cafe, and then wander the streets of Downtown Nashville. On your second day here, take in the history at Lotz House Museum, test your team's savvy at popular escape rooms, then contemplate the long history of Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, and finally see a show at Grand Ole Opry.

Tennessee Homemade Wines and Walker Sisters' Cabin are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from the city and head to Mount LeConte and Alum Cave Trail. When in Gatlinburg, make a side trip to see Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, approximately 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Sugarlands Distilling Company, identify plant and animal life at Roaring Fork, contemplate the long history of Little Greenbrier School, and cruise along Newfound Gap Road.
