Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
On the 22nd (Mon), get engrossed in the history at LBJ Presidential Library and then ponder the world of politics at State Capitol. Here are some ideas for day two: witness a stunning natural landmark at Barton Springs Pool, then hike along Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail, and then wander the streets of South Congress Avenue.

The city of Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants in the mid-19th century, and has managed to retain its distinctly German charm.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Thu): take an in-depth tour of National Museum of the Pacific War, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Barrel Barn at Garrison Brothers Distillery, and then pause for some serene contemplation at St Mary's Catholic Church.

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Get some cultural insight at La Villita Historic Arts Village and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Get some historical perspective at Mission San Jose and Guenther House. There's still lots to do: Head underground at Natural Bridge Caverns, get engrossed in the history at The Alamo, shop like a local with The San Antonio River Walk, and view the masterpieces at Blue Star Contemporary.

Traveling by car from Fredericksburg to San Antonio takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus.
