Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
On the 6th (Sun), admire the masterpieces at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens and then stroll through Water Wall. On your second day here, get engrossed in the history at National Museum of Funeral History, then see the interesting displays at Houston Museum District, and then steep yourself in history at 1892 Bishop's Palace.
