Zion National Park — 1 night

Towering cliffs of red, white, and pink Navajo sandstone, stream-carved slot canyons, and big blue sky all characterize Zion National Park.
On the 19th (Thu), explore the striking landscape of Zion National Park. On the 20th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a memorable drive along Zion Shuttle, then get great views at Observation Point, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Angel's Landing.

Houston to Zion National Park is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Houston to Zion National Park. Traveling from Houston in May, you will find days in Zion National Park are slightly colder (76°F), and nights are much colder (41°F). Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Bryce.

Serving as a gateway to the adjacent Bryce Canyon National Park, the tiny town of Bryce draws outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers all year round.

Drive from Zion National Park to Bryce in 1.5 hours. Traveling from Zion National Park in May, expect Bryce to be slightly colder, temps between 63°F and 31°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Sat) early enough to travel to Monument Valley.

You can drive from Bryce to Monument Valley in 4.5 hours. In May, Monument Valley is somewhat warmer than Bryce - with highs of 74°F and lows of 44°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sun) so you can drive to Moab.

The gateway to Utah's popular canyon country, Moab sits engulfed in the middle of desert wilderness.

Traveling by car from Monument Valley to Moab takes 4 hours. In May in Moab, expect temperatures between 76°F during the day and 49°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Canyonlands National Park.
