The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.

Take a break from the city and head to Antietam National Battlefield and Skyline Drive. For shopping fun, head to Madame Tussauds DC or Shenandoah Valley Artworks. Explore Washington DC's surroundings by going to Betterton Beach (in Betterton), Ferry Park (in Rock Hall) and Copper Fox Distillery (in Sperryville).
