Lake George — 3 nights

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
Escape the urban bustle at Shelving Rock Falls and Prospect Mountain. Star Trek Original Series Set Tour and Fort Ticonderoga are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Lake George to go to North Creek and see Square Eddy Expeditions, which is approximately 36 minutes away. There's still lots to do: cast your line with Bolton Boat Tours and Water Sports on Lake George, view the masterpieces at The Hyde Collection Art Museum and Historic Home, and contemplate the waterfront views at Lake George.
