Birmingham may be one of America's most controversial cities.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Tue): examine the collection at Southern Museum of Flight, then admire the masterpieces at Birmingham Museum of Art, and then see the interesting displays at Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. On the 25th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get engrossed in the history at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, walk around Kelly Ingram Park, and then stop by Peanut Depot.

Montgomery is the capital of the U.S. Popular historic sites such as Civil Rights Memorial Center and Hank Williams Memorial - Oakwood Annex Cemetery are in your itinerary. Mobile is the county seat of Mobile County, Alabama, United States. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Chocolate Corner and Souvenir City. Fort Gaines and Foley Railroad Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Mobile: Bellingrath Gardens and Home (in Theodore), Dauphin Island (Dauphin Island Sea Lab Estuarium & Dauphin Island Public Beach) and Rouses (in Gulf Shores).
