Set deep in the Ouachita Mountains, the city of Hot Springs almost completely surrounds the national park of the same name.
On the 29th (Sat), hike along Grand Promenade. On the 30th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get your bearings at Fordyce Bathhouse (Vistor Center), then look for gifts at Bathhouse Soapery, then admire the landmark architecture of Anthony Chapel, and finally get in on the family fun at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf.

Durham to Hot Springs is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Durham to Hot Springs. Expect a daytime high around 88°F in June, and nighttime lows around 70°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) so you can go by car to Little Rock.
