Asheville nestles between two major mountain ranges in the scenic western section of North Carolina.

Atlanta to Asheville is an approximately 4-hour car ride. You can also fly; or do a combination of subway, bus, and car. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Atlanta in December, with highs in Asheville at 54°F and lows at 35°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Savannah.
