Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Get some cultural insight at World of Coca-Cola and Centennial Olympic Park. When in Atlanta, make a side trip to see Stone Mountain Park in Stone Mountain, approximately 36 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Georgia Aquarium, get in on the family fun at SkyView Atlanta, and examine the collection at High Museum of Art.

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum and Portland Art Museum. Step out of the city life by going to Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area and Multnomah Falls. Step out of Portland with an excursion to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach--about 1h 50 min away. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Pittock Mansion, see the interesting displays at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, stroll through Laurelhurst Park, and take in nature's colorful creations at International Rose Test Garden.

Fly from Atlanta to Portland in 7 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train.
