"The Capital of the Cape," Hyannis serves as Cape Cod's main transportation and commercial hub.
Visit Chatham Marconi Maritime Center and Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum for their historical value. Get in touch with nature at Shining Sea Bikeway and Nauset Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Hyannis: Spohr Gardens (in Falmouth), Nobska Point Lighthouse (in Woods Hole) and Cape Cod Canal (in Buzzards Bay). There's much more to do: get outside with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises, examine the collection at Heritage Museums & Gardens, contemplate the long history of Hoxie House, and admire the masterpieces at Atwood Museum.

Provincetown — 4 nights

A small resort town with a year-round population of just 3,000, Provincetown draws nearly 60,000 annual visitors with its scenic beaches, art colonies, galleries, theaters, and shops.
You'll get in some beach time at Race Point Beach and Cape Cod National Seashore. Get in touch with nature at Art's Dune Tours and Herring Cove Beach. Step out of Provincetown to go to Eastham and see Captain Penniman House, which is approximately 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: explore the galleries of Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum, learn about winemaking at Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod, get to know the fascinating history of Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, and stroll through Marconi Beach.

You can drive from Hyannis to Provincetown in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In May in Provincetown, expect temperatures between 63°F during the day and 48°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sat) early enough to fly back home.
