Telluride — 1 night

The town of Telluride is the county seat and most populous town of San Miguel County in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Colorado. Start off your visit on the 12th (Sat): don't miss a visit to New Sheridan Hotel and then admire the sheer force of Bear Creek Falls. On the 13th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see Off-Road Tours, then head outdoors with Bootdoctors Telluride, and then don't miss a visit to Main Street.

Los Angeles to Telluride is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Prepare for colder weather when traveling from Los Angeles in February: high temperatures in Telluride hover around 37°F and lows are around 20°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sun) so you can drive to Durango.

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
On the 14th (Mon), fly down the slopes at The Snowbike Experience and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Purgatory Resort.

Traveling by car from Telluride to Durango takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and shuttle. Traveling from Telluride in February, expect nights in Durango to be about the same, around 18°F, while days are somewhat warmer, around 45°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Mon) early enough to fly to Breckenridge.

Breckenridge — 3 nights

Founded in 1859 as part of the Gold Rush in the Rockies, Breckenridge boasts a main street lined with colorful wooden storefronts housing cafes and shops, giving the effect of a thriving western town from the 19th century.
Take a break from the city and head to Boreas Pass Road and Arapahoe Basin. Discover out-of-the-way places like Frisco Adventure Park and Breckenridge Nordic Center. There's lots more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Peak 9, hit the slopes at Blue River Sports, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas.

Traveling from Durango in February, you will find days in Breckenridge are little chillier (26°F), and nights are about the same (15°F). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Thu) early enough to travel to Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat Springs — 2 nights

An internationally known ski resort, Steamboat Springs sits in the shadow of Mount Werner in north central Colorado.
On the 18th (Fri), cast your line with a fishing tour, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Emerald Mountain, and then hit the slopes at Howelsen Hill Ski Area. Here are some ideas for day two: get outside with Outdoor Activities, stroll through Steamboat Gondola, and then grab your bike and head to Steamboat Ski Resort.

While traveling from Breckenridge, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Steamboat Springs, ranging from highs of 35°F to lows of 15°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) to allow time to fly back home.
