Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Fri): take a memorable drive along Wildlife Loop Road, cruise along Iron Mountain Road, and then hike along Presidential Trail. On the 12th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the dramatic natural features at Needles Eye Tunnel and then explore the activities along Sylvan Lake.
