One of the country's most popular shopping destinations, Dallas and its sprawling suburbs include more shopping centers per capita than any other urban center in America.

Dallas is known for museums, parks, zoos & aquariums, nightlife, and fun & games. Traveling by bus from Dallas to Fort Worth takes an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. In December, plan for daily highs up to 59°F, and evening lows to 42°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Wed) so you can drive to Austin.

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.

On the 5th (Thu), get engrossed in the history at Bullock Texas State History Museum, get a sense of history and politics at Texas State Capitol, and then have some family-friendly fun at The Escape Game Austin. On your second day here, Head underground at Natural Bridge Caverns, then view the masterpieces at Wild About Music, and then steep yourself in history at The Driskill.

You can drive from Fort Worth to Austin in 3.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or fly. In December, daytime highs in Austin are 64°F, while nighttime lows are 45°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 7th (Sat) to allow time for the bus ride back home.
